A new version of the Big Date joins the classic Baroncelli collection. To celebrate its 100th anniversary, Mido has endowed the watch with a large date aperture, with the timepiece powered by its exclusive Caliber 80 movement. Equipped with a superb round polished steel case, enhanced with an elegant double gadroon bezel, the Baroncelli Big Date stands out due to its large two-level date aperture at six o’clock. In keeping with the rest of the Baroncelli collection, this new model instantly catches the eye with its exceptionally refined design, as seen in subtle details such as the grained dial and double-sided hands.

The Baroque-influenced neoclassical style of Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II expresses all the sophistication inherent to Italian architectural tradition. It was from these refined, rounded forms that Mido drew its inspiration for the Baroncelli. The subtle references to this prestigious building and its harmonious curves bestow both a rare sense of elegance and a resolutely timeless style on this iconic collection, which celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2016.

To mark the key date of its 100th anniversary, Mido is launching a series of original timepieces, equipped with a large date aperture and powered by its exclusive Caliber 80 movement. The Baroncelli collection has been expanded to include new models that pay tribute to the brand’s core values and the visionary spirit of its founder Georges Schaeren. The exceptionally refined dial contains a large date aperture at six o’clock, one of the largest on the market in its price category. This two-level aperture provides a spectacular date display and is the unique hallmark of the Baroncelli Big Date, available in several versions. The Caliber 80 movement provides exceptional autonomy with up to 80 hours of power reserve. Timepieces with high-end aesthetic codes that act as a constant reminder of the key dates that mark our lives.

One of the timepieces is equipped with a round, two-tone polished steel case measuring 40 mm in diameter. Its bracelet – also two-tone – extends from the large date aperture, bestowing this model with a touch of splendour thanks to the two rose gold PVD-treated central links. Another version of the Baroncelli Big Date, with its rose gold PVD-treated case in polished steel, comes with a black rolled-edge leather bracelet. These bracelets are fitted with a rose gold PVD-treated stainless steel folding clasp with an extremely thin fastener to provide the wearer with maximum comfort.

The superb grained dial of the Baroncelli Big Date sits beneath a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides. The double-sided hour and minute hands – one side sandblasted, the other diamond-cut – lend the timepiece an exceptionally refined and delicate appearance. Meanwhile, the seconds hand is diamond-cut. A subtle detail that will delight devotees of beautiful timepieces: the case of these timepieces has been enhanced with an elegant rose gold PVD-treated double gadroon bezel.
