This white-gold watch, limited to 300 pieces, sports the black and red color combination that in Southeast Asia symbolizes vitality, success, and good fortune. It is the reinterpretation of a timepiece that in 2016 premièred in blue. Its caliber CH 28-520 HU movement combines very rare complications that rank among Patek Philippe’s specialties: a self-winding flyback chronograph and a World Time mechanism that shows all 24 time zones of our planet at a single glance.
In homage to the city-state, the name Singapore replaced Beijing on the time-zone city ring. Because the chronograph function is based on a vertical clutch, the chronograph hand can be used as a continuously running seconds hand without affecting the rate accuracy and power reserve. Honoring the tradition of Patek Philippe World Time watches, the red dial center with a black gradation toward the periphery sets the stage for artisanal works of art, here with a hand-guilloched motif.
The color contrast is echoed by the red decorative stitching on the matt black alligator strap. The sapphire-crystal case back is engraved with the inscription PATEK PHILIPPE SINGAPORE 2019”
