The New Omega Seamaster 300 Master Chronometer
Omega first introduced the Seamaster 300 in 1957 - designed especially for divers and professionals who worked underwater. More than 60 years later, the timepiece has been completely upgraded with an enhanced form that is ready for a new generation of adventurers.
Today’s new collection offers 41 mm timepieces delivered in classic stainless steel. While remaining true to the heritage look, the style is thinner than previous versions thanks to the new domed sapphire glass, while the thinner bezels are crafted from an oxalic, anodized-treated aluminium for increased hardness.
Presented on an ergonomic stainless-steel bracelet, this timepiece includes a transparent sapphire crystal caseback, enabling a clear view of the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912.
The movement and full watch are certified as a Master Chronometer, approved by METAS, and resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. The calibre features a free-sprung balance with silicon balance spring, two barrels mounted in series, and is automatic winding in both directions.
For the dial, Omega’s new sandwich conception includes a base layer with vintage Super-LumiNova and a second plate over the top with cuttings for the recessed hour markers and the vintage numerals in an open Arabic style.
To again reference history, Omega has also reintroduced the popular lollipop central seconds hand. The style works beautifully with the cleaner dial, which now features only the Omega logo and Seamaster 300 name.
Providing visibility in the dark conditions, Super-LumiNova is included on the diving scale of the bezel, as well as the hour markers and hands. To support the diving function, all indications are blue, except for the minute hand and bezel dot, which are in green.
The stainless-steel bracelet now comes with an improved fit and finishing. Its shape has been ergonomically adjusted with streamlined fittings and a thinner, polished-brushed claps that includes a button for easy adjustment in three positions.
