Since 1846, when naval commanders and merchant captains the world over came looking for Ulysse Nardin's marine and pocket chronometers, the company has been building on his winning approach of timekeeping innovation and precision. Every decade since then has seen its share of prize-winning innovative timepieces come out of the manufacture in Le Locle, Switzerland.

Today, the release of the Marine 1846 timepiece celebrates this illustrious history with resolutely modern aplomb.

Based on the legendary 1996 timepiece, first introduced for the 150th anniversary of the brand, this Marine 1846 (Reference 1183-900/EO) updates it with silicium technology and a Grand Feu enamel dial.

Ulysse Nardin Marine 1846

The self-winding UN-118 Chronometer movement is entirely designed and produced in-house by the Swiss watchmaker, and is completed by a 60-hour power reserve, 50 jewels and a forward and backward quick-set date.

Like its predecessor, its vintage design, in a slightly larger 41 mm case bears the classic traits of the Marine collection: Roman numerals, a fluted bezel and excellent water resistance up to 100 m.

On the enamel dial, the small seconds, date and power reserve indicator are joined by the historic marine chronometer hands and logo. A final gesture to the past is found on the case-back, where the gold medals won by historic Ulysse Nardin timepieces are proudly listed.

The price for the Ulysse Nardin Marine 1846 is € 9’900.
